About

Avid Imprints sells bird art based on John James Audubon's The Birds of America, the life-size bird plates he published in Britain between 1827 and 1838. The plates are long out of copyright.

How the designs are made

We started from scans of the original plates and used AI image tools to rework each bird in four styles: steampunk, Art Deco, stained glass and porcelain. We generated nearly two thousand versions, kept the ones that still look like the bird Audubon painted, cleaned them up, enlarged them for print and set them on paper backgrounds.

Who prints them

Nothing is printed until you order it. Orders are made by UK print partners through Printify: mugs in Wiltshire, prints, framed prints and cushions in Swindon, and canvases in Surrey.

Avid Imprints is a trading name of Westcountry Hosting Ltd, a company based in Cornwall.
